about 10 seconds after this shot was taken, the camera, lens, tripod, and photographer got soaked by the oncoming storm pictured here. The wind gusts, and sudden downpour is a common occurance during the sunset hours in thailand during the wet season. I seriously believed i had enough time to get under roof the minute i felt that light forewarning drizzle, this storm did not carry any drizzle or any sort of warning. just a sudden gust and whoosh im caught under a storm. Camera and lens i’m thankful to say made it fine.

I came out here hoping i could take in some sunset shots..unfortunately during this time of the year in Thailand, the weather prevents these opportunities in Krabi. That ominous cloud on the left is visual fact of that.
I did manage in a 9-shot HDR, along with some other shots, but that storm quickly came and it came with a brute-like force of wind gusts and rain. So yeah I got my camera a little wet in the process, but given the outcome here..i’m pretty satisfied with my attempt today.
Krabi is a quieter, more rural community than it’s louder neighbor Phuket. The views from the beach are equally spectacular wherever you are. The Phi Phi Islands have been nothing but amazing places to visit. I will document my experiences on these islands later on.
(btw my lens was pretty dirty so you may run into a spot here or there…)
